Windows 10: Windows 10 reinstalls programs by itself

Hi,


I have a laptop with Windows 10 Home, which recently came from a repair which reinstalled the operating system. I always uninstall a lot of the junk that comes preinstalled with Windows, such as Paint 3D or xbox related stuff that I will never use.


Today my Internet has been working very poorly on the laptop, which I first thought could be because of the bad Internet connection, but on the rest of the devices worked normally. Now I came back home and turned on the laptop again, which took like 5 minutes of a black screen, until it finally logged into windows, where I found all of the bloatware I previously uninstalled was installed again.


How can this be normal? Was windows silently installing all the undesired software while the computer was on? I say silently because in the resources monitor, the Network Usage was very low or even none, which I checked given the strange network behavior Or could it have installed all of it while the computer was off?


Most important, how can I prevent Windows from installing software I don't want on my computer? I don't find it very reasonable.


PS: I read while googling this that this can happen after windows updates, but I checked my update history and there have been no recent updates.

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
