  1. Windows 10 Remote Desktop won't save password

Hi, I am Windows 10 pro and have a remote app that usually works fine on Windows 7 PCs. Here is my issue

If I use the built in Remote Desktop program then my program loads with the programs 'Login' box. I log into it and then the program just will not open (it sits in the taskbar and if you hover over it to show a small version of it then the small version is just blank).

Been looking for months for a fix for that but never found one. So I downloaded Remote Desktop from the windows store. I can almost get the program to work perfectly this way - problem is that it always asks the user to 'Log in' (has a username box with *** Email address is removed for privacy *** as a suggestion). My remote app is on a local server and if I enter the credentials for that server then program opens fine. Problem is that I have these network credentials already saved in the Credential Manager so why does it keep asking me when it should know them.

Answers to either of these problems would be hugely appreciated! Thank you

    Remote Desktop - Save connections

    Hi Adrian,

Through Remote Desktop Protocol in Windows, you are provided with a graphical interface where you can save the current connection settings to an RDP file or open a saved connection. You may get to this interface by following the steps below:

    • Type remote desktop in the Windows 10 taskbar search, and selecting
Remote Desktop Connection. Make sure that the Computer,
User name, etc. fields are filled in correctly under the
      General tab.
    • Click the Show options button.
    • From there, you can save the current connection settings to an RDP
file or open a saved connection.
    • If you are to save a connection, click Save As, and choose the location from where you want to save the shortcut, and click on
      Save.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask us.

    Windows 10 - Remote Desktop

    Hi,

We will surely assist you with the issue you are facing with Windows 10.
    - Which version of Windows 10 Operating System are you using?

    - Were you able to upgrade to Windows 10 successfully?

I suggest you to refer the below steps and see if this helps.

    • Enable remote desktop in settings
      • Control Panel\System and Security\System, Click "Remote Settings" on the left side

    • Verify my port forwarding settings were properly forwarding to my computers local IP address
      • run "cmd.exe" and then type "ipconfig". Find your IP from that list
    [*]
    • Make sure your firewall settings are open
    • Go to "Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall\Allowed apps"
    • On the left, click "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall"
    • Click "Change Settings"
    • Find "Remote Desktop" in the list and make sure both "Private" and "Public" is checked.

Let us know if this helps.

    Thank you.
