Windows 10: Windows 10 replacement

Hello - I installed Windows 10 during the free period. All was fine until the update from v1709 to 1803. 1803 would not install. Since then, I have tried every (legitimate) available fix that I can find; I've even had a Microsoft tech try to solve the problem via remote access. Nothing has worked. Not only wil 1803 not install, but neither will any update since then. So I have come to the conclusion that I need to replace it, and that is the reason for my question to the forum. When I purchase new Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, for pc, can I choose to completely eradicate my existing faulty o.s. and install the new one in its place, all without losing my existing data and applications.? I do have backup, but I want to do the install by leaving data and applications in place. I'm very sorry to say, but I just do not have sufficient faith to trust the advice of store clerks. Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
