  1. Windows 10 Reset had a problem, now stuck in a continuous boot loop?

Earlier this afternoon I decided to reset Windows 10 as I had a problem with BSOD BAD_POOL_CALLING over and over again. I booted in Safe Mode, went to Advanced Options and so on. It wasn't a factory-new reset, just the one that removes all files, app data, etc. I left it for a while and came back to find it hadn't worked; there was an error message that read 'There was a problem whilst restarting your PC'. I tried again and the error message appeared again. Because of this, I decided to exit and continue to Windows 10 and see if it had done anything. Now, when I try to boot my PC up, the circle that usually rotates on the 'Zoostorm' screen when loading doesn't appear. The PC then reboots and tries again, again and again, but with no success. I have tried turning off and on, and even unplugging everything, however nothing seems to work. My PC is now stuck in a continuous reboot loop and won't load. Unfortunately, I can't press F8 or Shift + F8 when booting to start Safe Mode. I have never made a recovery drive for Windows 10 and I don't think my computer came with a repair disk. Can someone please help me? Thank you.

    :)

  3. Windows 10 Reset had a problem, now stuck in a continuous boot loop?

    Hi,

I have the exact same problem with the exact same computer brand, and I do not have a windows startup disk, as the computer came with windows 10 installed. Is there a way around installing it with a disk as such?

Just follow these directions: Windows 10 - Clean Install

Since you have already upgraded to Win 10 and activated, you are now allowed to do a clean install.

No, just hit skip when prompted for the product key. Since it was already activated it will activate automatically.

  7. I had Windows 10 Home before as I got a free upgrade from Windows 8.1. If I download Windows 10 Pro, will it still work? Or will the product key not work because it's for Windows 10 Home?

No you have to install Home, otherwise you won't be able to activate. If you want Pro, you can then go to System Properties, change product key and then there is a button to upgrade Windows version. Clicking on that will take you to Windows Store to pay $99 for the upgrade. This is the legal way to upgrade from Home to Pro. Or you could upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Pro before the upgrade to 10. Then it will upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. The Pro version is worth paying if you need to connect to a domain (take the computer at office) or any of the Pro features. For regular home use you shouldn't need anything more than the Home version.

Of course! In Windows 7 you could just turn off User Account Control and always run as Administrator. In Windows 8 and 10 this is not the case. So to make sure an installation won't fail due to access rights you have to right-click and Run as Administrator. If you do it 2-3 times, then you get used to it and do it without thinking about it.

  12. Turns out I do not know if I had Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro... If I download Home, would it automatically activate if I had it before? And if it turns out I had Pro, could I just clean install Pro and it would activate? Please help D:

Windows 10 Reset had a problem, now stuck in a continuous boot loop?

Yes to both questions. As long as you install the same version you activated on that computer previously then it will automatically active if you reinstall.

What was the previous version of Windows? For Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium and Windows 8.1 you need Windows 10 Home. For Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate and Windows 8.1 Pro you need Windows 10 Pro. If unsure, install Home and see. If it doesn't activate automatically, format and clean-install Windows 10 Pro.

For Vista, upgrade to Windows 7 first.

For XP upgrade to Vista then Windows 7 first.

For 98, forget about it! Probably your computer is too old....

  15. You see, that's the thing... I've forgotten my previous version of Windows xD However, I have a strong feeling it was Windows 8.1 Pro.
