Windows 10: Windows 10 reset lost iTunes

Hi, a recent automatic update on windows 10 was obviously causing a conflict on my desk top, it was really slow and HD was running at nearly 80% plus the my RAM too. I did a reset to an earlier version of windows 10 and now my iTunes library has vanished. I am not tech savvy and tried reading up on the net and still can not find any of my previous music. This maybe a total coincidence and foolishly I have no recovery backed up. I have most of my original cd's but more concerned about the unrecoverable content. I have probably lost other stuff and will find out as and when I find it's gone. Thanks in advance.

Step 1:

I suggest you to try uninstall iTunes from the Programs and Features.

Follow the below steps to uninstall iTunes:

• Press Windows key + X and click Control Panel.
• Click on Programs and Features.
• Select iTunes and click Uninstall.
• Restart the computer.

Step 2:

I suggest you to install iTunes in compatibility mode and check.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right-click on the setup file of the iTunes and select Properties.

2. Select Compatibility tab.

3. Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.

4. Let the iTunes install and then check the functionality.

iTunes won't connect to my iTunes Media directory

1. Uninstall iTunes completely. (I suggest using Geek Uninstaller. In my experience this does a good job of clearing remnants.)
2. Download and install latest iTunes from Apple, not Windows Store (Never use the Windows Store for iTunes.)
3. Check whether the Apple version allows you to point to your old media store.

Windows 10 lost iTunes Library

I understand your concern about finding the iTunes libraries after upgrade to Windows 10.

I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: As you have upgraded to Windows 10, Windows.old folder would be created, try to search for the iTunes libraries and check if it helps.

Step 2: Also, try to search by any iTunes file name in File Explorer and check if you are able to find any files.

Steps: Log-in as an administrator, press Windows + E, type the file name in the search box at right top corner, press
Enter and see if you can find any files.
