    Windows 10 Reset Question

I am planning on selling my Sager NP9377 Laptop, it currently has Windows 10 on it. When I go through the Windows 10 Reset and get to end of reset, is it safe to turn off the laptop and then buyer can turn it on and go through initial setup process? How should I go about getting laptop ready for sale? Thoughts and help appreciated *Smile

  2. Windows 10 Reset Question

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I can understand, how frustrating it can be, when things don’t work as expected.

I'd be glad to help you.

If you do reset in windows 10, there are two options:

    • It will keep all files, documents and folders after reset.
    • It will remove all files, documents and folders after reset.

When you do a reset on Windows 10, all your Windows 10 builds will be removed and go back to the basic mode of Windows 10.

Hope this resolves the issue. If the issue still persists, you can write to us and we will be glad to assist you further.

    Thank you.

    Resetting Windows 10 - Questions

    Hello!

I have checked all the useful guides and I would like to post some questions.

    1. If I reset my Win10, I will need a USB with Windows10 (Installation media). Right?

    2. By resetting Win10, the partitions created originally from HP will be erased? Including the partition with the original Win7?

    3. My laptop has an SSD and HDD, booting from the SSD. Will the reset identify that automatically and install everything or are there steps to follow?

    Thank you!

    My laptop is an HP Envy 6-1010sv (i5 1.7, 4gb RAM, %00GB SATA/ 64GB SSD, Radeon 7670M/Intel HD4000)

    Windows 10 Reset Question

I'm a really generous guy. What I like to do is at the OOBE setup screen go into audit mode - CTRL + Shift + F3. That logs you in to the built-in administrator account. There you can connect to your Wi-Fi, look in device manager make sure everything has drivers and is good to go. Make sure everything is updated. Just do not let the screensaver activate in Audit Mode! You can even shut down normally and start-up again in audit mode if you need to.

Then when everything is set up to my liking, on the Sysprep screen that opens when you log into audit mode select start up to OOBE and shutdown computer. Everything associated with the built-in administrator account will be erased again - including your WiFi network name and password and the next startup will be to the OOBE screen just like you never logged on. But all the system updates and drivers will be there.

Yes, it is normally safe to just turn off the computer at the first OOBE screen if you want to.

How would I keep Screen Saver from activating in Audit Mode? Also, what is the OOBE screen? Another quick question: When I do the Windows 10 Reset, will it still have the Windows 10 License?

Normally I just keep moving the mouse. I think screensaver is turned off by default. You can also change the power settings to not turn off the display or sleep and can also change the setting to not require login when the computer sleeps under account settings and sign-in options.

OOBE screen is the very first screen that you see on a new installation of Windows. I think it asks for language settings.

Nothing happens to the license for Windows when you do a reset - or a new install. It is now a digital license stored on Microsoft activation servers linked to the unique hardware ID of the computer.
