    Windows 10 restart cancels update


    I have an issue with my laptop HP 15-bw051od.


    I recently reset it to factory settings HP’s Factory Reset, not the Windows reset and upgraded the computer with an SSD. The reset downgraded my Windows 10 to 1607 and I have not been able to upgrade it to a later Version since. I downloaded the Windows 10 Update Assistant, it downloaded the update and promoted me to restart the computer, which I did. The system restarted as it should, but after the Windows logo on bootup, I saw the Windows “HI” thing you see whenever you update windows for only a second, then the login screen appears UNDOING everything, it went straight to the desktop. I checked the windows version and it’s still 1607. Is there a solution to this, maybe a software patch?

    This also happened when I tried to Update the Firmware on my computer as well. Any help would be appreciated, Thank You!

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Windows 10 update being enabled.

    Anyway , You are luckier than me. My computer was locked directly after updated to Windows 10 . but the solution is easy.

    There is no "Cancel Reservation" option available !!
