Windows 10: Windows 10 restart

I need help in reseting an old laptop of mine. I downloaded the installation media onto a usb and when i started the restart process my laptop keeps telling me it doesn't detect any installation media when the usb is in but if i restart the laptop without the usb in it it doesnt even show the restart windows setup page and instead opens up to the BIOS settings, but if i restart the computer with from the BIOs settings without the usb it turns on to the BIOSsettings and if i restart the computer fron the BIOS settings with the usb the windows setup window shows up and i dont know how to fix it.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
