Windows 10: Windows 10 restarts PC when told to shut down, other OSes don't?

Discus and support Windows 10 restarts PC when told to shut down, other OSes don't? in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; As the title says, when I click shutdown in Windows 10, the computer eventually shuts off, but then right when the LED on the front of the PC goes...     Windows 10 restarts PC when told to shut down, other OSes don't?


    As the title says, when I click shutdown in Windows 10, the computer eventually shuts off, but then right when the LED on the front of the PC goes dark, the system boots back up. I dualboot with Linux and macOS, neither of which exhibit this behavior, they just shut down as they're told to. Only Windows seems to be doing this.

    Random shut down and restart??

    Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
    E220@2.406hz
    2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
    Windows xp

    Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused Windows 10 restarts PC when told to shut down, other OSes don't? :confused:*Mad Windows 10 restarts PC when told to shut down, other OSes don't? :mad:

    One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

    Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
