Windows 10: Windows 10 Restoire - Cont.

Following yesterday's post I followed advice (thanks to all) to create a recovery drive and it was successful.


However, On mounting it in the problem desktop and setting the boot sequence I rebooted.


The only option that does not cause an "unable to perform) type comment is to restore from the previously saved backup system on the original drive. Which is acceptable


Unfortunately The laptop which created the recovery drive was created using BIOS and the desktop to be repaired is using EFI - So I get the errorI get the error -

"Windows cannot restore system image to a computer that has a different firmware. The system was created on a computer using BIOS and this computer is using EFI"


Any suggestions how I can get around this problem?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
