Windows 10: Windows 10, restore corrupt profile from backup? App settings? Apps?

I got the dreaded user profile is corrupt, creating a temporary profile error. Created a new User Profile. Do I really have to build everything from scratch?!!! Ugh.


1. Is it possible to restore my profile from a backup? If so, what directories, files, etc. should I pay attention to?


2. Irregardless if #1 is possible or not, is it possible to restore my various software settings? Like my MS Word 2010 custom ribbon, customized Quick Access Toolbar, Normal.dot, etc.? My settings in any other MS product? How about the non-MS products, can I restore my settings for them?


3. I must have installed most of my software with the option of "For this user only" because most of my applications do not show up in the Start menu. Yet they are there in Apps & features. Is there any way to get them operative in this new User Profile without uninstalling them and re-installing them? Or just re-installing them?

Weather App not working windows 8.1

The apps troubleshooter wouldn't fix it on any of the machines. Tried syncing the app licenses, too. No dice. Uninstalling and reinstalling the MSN Weather App appears to have fixed it.

I have no problems with the weather app... on my pc, tablets, laptops, or windows phones.
Must be regional/local problems.

Or, your store/app data files may be corrupt.
Might want to try the apps troubleshooter.
