Windows 10: Windows 10 retail questions and office retail questions

Hi !

I am from Sweden and have some questions about Windows 10 Pro Retail License.

And Microsoft Office Retail License.

1.How many times can i do a clean install if i by new motherbords or built new computer ?

2.How many times can i reinstall on same computer ?

3.How many times can i transfer to another PC ?

I know i can only use the license on one PC at the same time.

Grateful if any from Microsoft can answer my 3 questions.

Windows 10 Retail question

A question for Microsoft sales department.

I built a new system a few months ago and along with buying all the new components I bought a retail version of Windows 10 Pro. I noticed that it was not the latest version 1703 after I installed it because I had to do some updates. When I checked the version
it is ver. 10.0.14393 created 7/16/2016.

Is it possible to download the updated retail version in a ISO file from Microsoft and install(burn) it over the retail copy I have now on the usb stick I bought? My copy is legit and I can produce a receipt from BestBuy Canada if required.

The reason I am asking is because I don't want to have to reformat later and have to get all the updates from 2016. I usually format my systems at least once a year to have a fresh system.

Has anyone moved the free windows 10 'Retail version' to another PC successfully?

I read on a questions and answers thread on Microsofts website that the free Windows 10 becomes the type it was upgraded from (e.g retail version).

Other threads seem to conclude it still acts like an OEM even in the case of the retail version binding only to the hardware it was first installed on.

Has anybody managed to reinstall Windows 10 on a new computer upgraded from a retail windows, or did it lock to the First hardware?

The EULA states "you may transfer the software to another device that belongs to you" so it looks possible ...

Steps to try:

• Install windows 7/8.1 retail on machine A
  
• Upgrade to windows 10 for free.
  
• Uninstall windows completely from machine A
  
• Install the same windows 7/8 retail on machine B
  
• Upgrade to windows 10 again (here's hoping)
  

If someone has already done the first to steps feel free to try see if it works!

I personally don't want to try the first to steps just in case I can't transfer it after if anyone has done this or has some insight please let me know.

Yes, If you buy a retail license you'll be able to use it on one your computer, than transfer to another, than transfer to third and so on.

Will Windows-as-a-service model come to real life or not, you will forever have a rights to install and use this Windows 10 at one your computer.

OEM licenses is a different question. Right now it seems it will be cheaper to buy OEM than retail version, even if you'll change two or three laptops. You may compare prices in any manufacturer's configurator to check.

Will Windows SaaS be cheaper than retail box or not - look at prices. you may compare prices for Office 2016 and Office 365 to make an estimation.
