Windows 10: Windows 10 returning to desktop screen shortly after opening apps/programs.

within the last 8 months or so, I have a recurring problem with Windows 10 returning to the desktop after I have opened an app or program. The app/program remains running although minimized on the bottom of the screen in the task bar.


There is a file that is executing to cause this issue but several attempts to pause or click on it have been unsuccessful. So I have been able to identify what file is executing the command. I can see it flash in the task bar prior to the screen jumping back to the Desktop.


The other issue beside the annoyance is that the app/programs start to act up in that there are delays in processing, especially if the app is connected to the internet.


Anybody experience this and been able to fix it. Internet search had proved unhelpful.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

trying to profile my monitor with the idisplay pro is not working, returns Win10 opening desktop

I have been trying to profile my monitor with the idisplay pro I can go thru all the steps but when it actually starts profiling by showing the red full screen, the windows 10 screen returns and screws up the profile any suggestions on how to disable
this startup? Thanks

• Click on the tile and drag it to your desktop.

NOTE: If the Start screen in Windows 10 is enabled, you need to turn on the
Start menu in order to create desktop shortcuts for apps.

You can follow these steps to turn on Start menu:

• Open Taskbar and navigation properties.
• Switch to the Start menu tab.
• Uncheck the option labelled Use the start menu instead of the Start screen.
