Windows 10: Windows 10 running with multiple monitors

I am running Windows 10 on a Dell a Precision 5510 with 32gb ram and a Xeon E3-1505M v5 processor.

I have two monitors connected to the laptop. One via HDMI, the other using a J5Create VGA to USB converter. Desktop is extended across all displays.

When I boot up the system, everything is fine. all apps are responsive. The longer the system runs, i start seeing brief pauses across all three displays. apps are non-responsive, the screens appear to do a quick refresh, and then everything is normal. The longer the system runs, the longer these pauses become, sometimes up to 3-4 seconds.

I end up rebooting and they go away but as the system is up for some time, the pauses start again.


I disabled my nvida driver and am using just the intel graphics but it still occurs.

It happens with and with out the j5Create drive installed.

• What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
  

• How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?
