Windows 10`s Taskbar`s Desktop Toolbar no longer retains re-arrangements.

It used to be the case that I could re-arrange the Items on the Desktop Toolbar as I wanted, and that would be it.Now that is no longer the case. Now as of a few Updates ago, the next time I re-boot, it has discarded my re-arrangement and gone back to it`s default mess. This: Wastes the bother of re-arranging things.Wastes time & bother every time that I have to hunt for the Item of interest that I used to be able to locate conveniently and almost instantaneously. How do I get it to go back to remembering what I set?

    :)

    Arrange icons in Desktop Toolbar

I have the Desktop toolbar added to my taskbar, but my question is how do I arrange the icons on the list that pops up? It is currently arranging them by date - newest icon at the bottom, but I want them alphabetical.

Toolbars missing from Taskbar in Windows 10 v1803

    However here is a solution:

Remove the Language Toolbar from the Taskbar by unticking (unchecking) it in the list of Toolbars. It will then float and will not show up in your Toolbars list or on the Taskbar.

Logoffs, Restarts and full Shutdown/Poweroff/Startup will all retain the Toolbars as set.

    Hope this helps someone.
