  1. Windows 10 S

Hello, I need help, FAST! I'm kind of a windows and anything related to PCs noob here. So please be patient with me.

I bought a new Acer laptop a week ago. Made a new outlook account, assigned a laptop pin, activated the Windows, and started the 1 year Office subscription which came already installed in the laptop. Although I might be bad at using computers, I know the first basic thing you do when you buy a new laptop is to download Chrome.

So I went to the page dedicated to do that, and pressed the download button. It downloaded and I pressed the "run" button which I'm supposed to press.

This is when the problem started, it told me that windows 10 S (which I hadn't realised I bought, all I knew is that I was getting a laptop with windows 10 installed) doesn't allow running things that have been downloaded from the internet.

Then, it told me that I could switch from Windows 10 S to the Windows 10 from the Microsoft store. But I couldn't go back to the S version if I wanted.

Now, me being me, I don't know what the hell any of these mean! Should I make the switch? Will the laptop factory reset deleting everything I did from activating the windows and starting the office 1 year subscription?! Please don't tell me I need to buy another office subscription if I do that. Is Office linked to my account? Can I switch to Windows 10 and then come back to my account and still have a 1 year access to my Office? Do I even need Windows 10 S? Is it any better then the normal Windows 10?

    Help me!!

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
