Windows 10: windows 10 scaling issues on new install

HI everyone

I just installed Windows 10 on a completely new system, and for the first time ever on my 4k monitor, I'm having weird scaling issues with certain programs. I can't really give anymore info than that, as I've so far only installed a few programs.

Programs that work fine: Chrome, all system dialogs and programs, including Edge

Programs with weird scaling/large text - MSI's Dragon Centre, Corsair's iCue software.

I've played around with some of the fixes suggesting scaling changes, but nothing has worked. I've just switched back to my current system, and installed the same software on there, and on the same monitor, it's absolutely fine.



Specs:

AMD 5900x

MSI Geforce 3080 Suprim X

Corsair Vengeance 64gb

MSI Mag x570 Tomahawk Wifi



Windows version is whatever the most recent one is from the website

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
