Windows 10: Windows 10 scanning with Canon MX860 printer

Hello All, I have just purchased a new computer a Windows 10, I want to scan a document on my old printer and create a PDF, with my old computer I would do it from my printer, but with my new computer the creation of a scanned document to PDF is not working via my printer how or what can I do to go back to my old way of scanning documents from my printer or how do I scan a document on my new windows 10 computer using my old printer a Canon MX 860.

Canon MX860 scanner not working

I recently installed Windows 10 and like it but the problem is my printer/scanner will not scan to my computer. I have tried various things even contacted Canon. They do not plan on updated the Canon MX860 printer/scanner. Any suggestions I downloaded
the Windows Scan app it works, it sends them to the computer but I can't print the sheet out, .

 

Need Compatible Driver for Windows 10 and Canon MX860 series

Why doesn't Windows 10 support the Canon MX860 printer/scanner. I can print, but can no longer scan. You need to add this to the supported printer/scanners.

 

Canon MX860 - Network printing fails

This is what I did:

1. Create a "fake port" TCP with the ip of my printer. Use an existing printer and then add port TCP/IP port with my printer's IP. Wait a few mins and a port will be created

2. From Canon's website download md64-win-mx860-1_03-ea24.exe and
ldtl-win-mx860-2_5_7-en.exe (from the driver's section of Windows 8.1 (x64). If you have a 32bit machine then download the appropriate drivers -- Windows 8.1)

3. Following Jean's instructions turn off firewall and run md64-win-mx860-1_03-ea24.exe

4. When you get to the stage were only USB is displayed Hit Cancel. The in the next screen select Manually Select Port

5. Select the port you created in Step 1 and follow the steps.

6. Then run ldtl-win-mx860-2_5_7-en.exe. Follow the prompts. You have to select the device which will be autodetected.

7. After the installation is complete you will get a prompt to reboot. At this point leave the prompt as is and turn on the firewall back on.

8. Reboot the machine.

9. After reboot print a test page and do a test scan
