Windows 10: Windows 10 screen goes blank after two minutes

I have windows 10 on a desktop computer. I have a problem that my computer screen shows a logon screen after two minutes and I have to log in again. After I login the computer returns to normal immediately for two minutes. My applications are still running and are unaffected.

This problem has started after a previous windows update. The problem went away when I reverted to a previous configuration. It came back immediately after Windows was updated.

I with the support of a Windows support engineer have checked all the power settings that are visible and the power settings trouble shooter. I even re installed window again but the problem was still there.


There are a wide variation of possible solutions on the Microsoft help pages. It seems to suggest that ''a system unattended sleep timeout setting' seems to be involved. This setting cannot be changed using 'settings'. One proposed solution involved making this setting visible using regedit and making some changes. The suggestions are not consistent and appear to be a work round rather than a proper fix.

After two days tinkering with my computer discussing it with the support team the support engineer's supervisor said that this was a known problem windows bug and they were working on it. They agreed that the best solution was a windows 10 update to solve it. This would be best as the various changes suggested are complicated and could result losing my programs and data. The web pages suggest that this problem has existed for some time.


My question is 'when will the windows 10 update going to appear to fix this problem?

Screen goes blank after changing BIOS settings/

I don't know how long this has been happening, a few weeks at least, but whenever I change a setting in my BIOS (and save & exit), my screen goes blank and my monitor goes into standby. Any suggestions to fix this?

 

Windows 10 blank screen after boot-up....

Anyone have any luck with this ? Windows appears to boot normally until the screen with the little dots on it. Then it goes black , stays that way for a minute and finally logs on. I`ve already googled this and all the answers boil down to two solutions - disable fast startup and change your graphics driver. Neither rly helped for me tho it did seem to be graphics card related.

Awaiting more expert suggestions from TPU !
