Windows 10: Windows 10 screensaver and ability to put display to sleep stopped working several updates back

since September, my computer has stopped putting the display to sleep or activating the screen saver. I know it's an update because at some point I was able to roll back to a previous version of Windows which made it work again, but then I couldn't roll back to it ever again, after trying to update from that point on.Please fix this garbage, absolutely unconscionable to have this bug going on for so long.

Step 1: Run the Power
troubleshooter.

Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select

  Large icons.

  Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Power troubleshooter.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to update display drivers and check if that helps.

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.

Windows 11 Screensaver / Display Sleep functions not working

I have the same exact SSD and I tried this firmware update (mine also hadn't been updated since purchase) and it solved the monitor sleep issue for me as well!

However, this did nothing to solve the screensaver issue. The screensaver still will not engage unless I run the DISM commands, and then only continues to work until the next reboot. A curious note about the screensaver issue is it also sometimes works immediately upon reboot but then a few minutes later it stops. Perhaps some application is loading up and interfering with it?

 

Display goes to sleep

If all power option settings are set to Never, but your display still goes to sleep or turns off after a period of inactivity, it could be that the screensaver settings are turned on or configured to turn off the display. May we know if you have checked
the screensaver settings of your computer? If not, here's how to check the screensaver settings in Windows 10:

• Press the Start button, then type screensaver, then select it from the search results.
• See if the screensaver is enabled.
