  1. Windows 10 seems to be corrupting my SD cards

Ive run into this twice now, perfectly good 16GB Sandisk SDHC cards now rendered unusable after trying to read and/or format in windows 10.I have several wildlife trail cameras and usually take the files off with either my windows 10 Pro desktop or laptop, more often the HP laptop because it has an SD card slot. I don't know if it's coincidental or not, but after some recent updates I have had 2 cards rendered useless and unable to format. When I run a chkdsk on them they report no errors, and have run chkdsk /f /r /x on them successfully, I even ran AOMEI partition assistant on them to check

    :)

  2. windows 10 oes not acknowledge sd card

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

To get more clear picture of the issue, let us know:

    • Are you using your SD card in a phone or computer?
    • If it is on phone, then which Build of Windows 10 Insider Preview are you using?
I would suggest you to check the SD card with any other device to make sure there is not any corruption with the SD card.

Reply with the information and we'll be happy to assist you.

  3. micro SD card corrupted?

Does your SD card work if you connect it to your computer?

If so, then what I would suggest is to backup it's content on your PC and format the SD card.

Once it's backed up, format the SD card through the phone.

Go to App List > Storage Sense > SD Card > Format SD Card to do that.

    Regards

    Denis

Windows 10 seems to be corrupting my SD cards

SD card/SD card reader no longer working

Hi. New to this so not sure of category.
    I have a Lenovo G70. Windows 10, 64bit
My SD card reader has stopped working.
In Device Manager, the SD card is not listed.
I can't format the card as it is not listed.
I cannot locate the card at all as it is not listed anywhere.
I've tried chkdsk and get 'Cannot open volume for direct access'
I don't even have the icon displaying when micro SD card is inserted.
It did work previously but I had errors. Scanning and fixing did not help.
I place the SD card in my Android phone and it works fine.
    Please help!
    Thank you for any assistance.
