Windows 10: Windows 10 sees 2 usb-c network adapters as te same one

Dear Microsoft Support,


A customer of ours has a problem with his networkadapters. He uses a Thunderbolt 3 dock and a usb-c mobile dock. When te user leaves his thunderbolt 3 dock and uses his mobile usb-c dock, the network settings are the same as his Thunderbolt 3 dock. Even the names are the same. Do you guys know a solution to deal with is problem so the 2 adapters are seen as seperate ones with seperate settings?

I suggest you to check if the device is compatible with Windows 10. Also, I suggest you to install the drivers for Alfa AWUS036NEH USB adapter in compatibility mode and check.
Follow the steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode.

• Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right-click on the installer and click on "Properties".
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select previous Operating System from the drop down.
• Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

Method 1: Network troubleshooting

• • • On the search bar type “Troubleshooting”
    • Click on “Network and Internet”
    • Click on “Network Adapter” and run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Download and install the latest firmware updates for the Network adapter

Follow these steps to un-install the drivers:

• On the search bar type “ Device Manager”
• On the left pane locate “Network Adapter” and expand by clicking on it
• Right on the “ Network driver” option and click “Uninstall’
• Download the latest Wireless network adapter driver setup file from the manufacturer’s website and install it.
