Windows 10: Windows 10 serach bar blank problem

Hello, my name is Amit Katz


I got my search bar stuck at a blank state and I need help.

It got stuck like that by me searching for something and then clicking on chrome, when I came back to search again it was stuck.

task bar icons blank

After applying the november windows 10 home update three of my task bar icons have become blank sheets. The ones changed are edge, store and wunderlist. The remainder are fine. The icons of the three appear correct in the all apps list. I have tried
unpin and re-pin with no change. The three applications work correctly and start fine from the task bar. It is just hard to remember which application is which blank. Note this has happened on my hp laptop which was upgraded from windows 8.1, My desktop
which has windows 10 professional does not have the problem. It was upgraded from windows 7 professional.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

to see whether you have the correct permissions to search all the directories on your computer.

Follow the steps given below to run Search and Indexing Troubleshooter.

• Type Troubleshooting in the
  Search box from the desktop.
• Select the Troubleshooting option.
• Select View All option and select the
  Search and Indexing.
• Click on Next to perform the
  Search and Indexing troubleshooter and follow the steps.

Method 2: I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps suggested from the Microsoft helps article like: Check for updates, Restart the computer, run the troubleshooter, create test user account and check if it helps.
