Windows 10: Windows 10 Settings Error / broken Settings pages

All the options in settings drop down menus are missing, and any links on setting pages are either missing or do not work, which means I cannot connect to wifi if it isn't a network I've used before. I have no idea what's going on, but effectively my settings page is broken.

Has anyone experienced this before? I've tried sfc scan now and resetting the settings app, to no avail

Settings links broken


Looks like some of the links in Windows Settings are broken (I think they only broke after the Anniversary Update). If anyone knows how to fix this it would be most welcome.

• In Settings>System>About, clicking "Device Manager" at the bottom of the page results in an error:
  
  
• Every link to Device Manager in Settings gives the same error
• System>Display>Advanced Display Settings>Color Management, Color Calibration, ClearType text, and Display adapter properties give an error
• Devices>Mouse and Touchpad>Additional mouse options: error again
• Network & Internet>Change adapter options: error
• Probably many more links are broken, I didn't bother to check.

Seriously, WTF Microsoft. And I'm usually the one who never has any problems with Windows, so this must be serious.

 

Sound card amplification settings

Yeah unfortunately ASUS and Realtek are not stepping up and fixing this it seems. Wherever I see such problems mentioned on forums some users are suggesting just uninstalling the Realtek driver and using the Windows audio driver.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
