    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Sign-In options on Mail app, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app, Stick Notes are unresponsive. Settings closes automatically.

For full context, this problem started with my Mail app not updating my inbox. I attempted to sign-out and sign back in to my email account but the sign-in option was unresponsive. I uninstalled the Mail app and attempted to reinstall it but found I was signed out of the Microsoft Store. When I click the sign-in button nothing happens.

The same thing occurs when I click sign-in on the Xbox app.

In trying to solve this problem I've found that the Settings app opens momentarily then closes.

I don't recall specifically how but I was able to install the mail app again but when I click 'Add an Account' then the Outlook option it says 'Creating Account' then closes back to the 'Add an Account' menu with Outlook, Office 365, Google, etc.

I've also found this is true for the Sticky Notes app.

In summary, the Mail app, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app are all unsresponsive when I attempt to sign-in and my Settings app closes immediately. This is only occuring on this profile on my computer, other profiles work fine. Everything else I have tried is working fine. I can access my microsoft account fine via a browser.

    I have tried:

    - Resetting and Repairing the settings app in powershell and via the windows GUI.

    - Using sfx /scannow via the Powershell as administrator

    - using DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth via the Powershell
