    Windows 10 Shared PC Mode

    Hello Microsoft/All

I am the IT Support Specialist for the company I work for. I just finished reviewing information that's on Microsoft Windows 10 Shared PC Mode. I have been doing some research on this information in hope to implement it on a few computers we have in the office. I had some questions on some information I was curious about, was wondering if you would be able to clear them up for me.

I have recently switched over to Microsoft office 365 licenses and as far as I’ve researched, each user can use the license on max of 5 PCs, or mac, 5 tablets, and 5 phones. With my understanding and how the license work, how would it work if we are using shared PC mode allowing the user to sign in and out of the account? I am assuming that because there is a limitation on the license that the total amount of licenses will quickly be used in this purpose.

Would I have to purchase a separate license for each user to then use Shared PC mode on the one computer? Would the user be using the license already assigned to them for the regular Office 365 business that was already purchased? Will the user be able to use their laptop for normal work projects then have to use the Shared PC Mode then have that count as a use towards their license?

These are question I have concerns about switching the computer to Shared PC Mode for domain users. Let me know on any further information you may have so I can feel that this route would be heading in a great direction allowing my users to be able to use one PC and maybe even cut back on some costly licenses for computers that are mostly used once a month.

    Thanks

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
