Windows 10: Windows 10 Sharing Issue "Windows cannot access \\PC"

So first off I am getting this error "Windows cannot access \\PC1-ASUS"


This seems to be a common problem that for the last week I have been trying to fix. We have multpile computer on the newtwork. All windows 10 and all can see and access one another. However, PC2-Lenovo gets this error when trying to access PC1-ASUS. Every other computer on the newtwork can access PC1-ASUS. What's even more interesting is that PC1-ASUS can access PC2-Lenovo!


I've tried enabling and disabling services like FDPHost, FDResPub, NetMan, UPnPHost, etc. on both computers. I've tried enabling and disabling network sharing options on both computers. Dozens of restarts, searching the internet for days but no one has this exact problem and no solution has worked. All the computers on the network are up to date. All computers are on the same workgroup. All computers are in the same building using the same switch!


All the drives on PC1-ASUS are shared to everyone in permissions but that doesn't help if I can't even access the computer.

Please, does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Sharing Issue

Hi Ennycloe,

There are several reasons why does other computers are unable to access your file from Windows 10. To make sure where this issue is coming from, we suggest that you run the built-in HomeGroup troubleshooter. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Type troubleshooting on the Windows search box.
• Click on View all which is located on the left pane.
• Choose Home group and then Shared Folders.
• Follow the on screen steps.

Let us know the results from the troubleshooter.

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
