    Windows 10: Shifting Windows


    Since I updated to the most recent version of windows (I had waited quite a while to update) I have noticed a behavioral quirk that bothers me.


    The Behavior:

    When I mouse over an icon on my task bar and it brings up the aero preview

    And I mouse over the preview, all the windows fade except the one moused over.

    EVERY SINGLE WINDOW shifts up and to the left except the one selected.


    Why is it doing that?

    How do I make it stop doing that?

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
