Windows 10: Windows 10 Shows no Internet connection but there is, also opens microsoft homepage and...

Hello!


I'm using Windows 10 Home and i have a annoying problem for quite a while by now. I use a desktop connected over LAN to a devolo Poweline device and then to our Fritzbox router. Every time i connect my PC to any sort of internet even on a LAN party at my friends house windows says it has no internet connection and the Microsoft homepage opens.

Troubleshooting only says i should log in into the website of my ISP and redirects me to the Microsoft homepage.

I tried uninstalling my network adapter and using my phone over USB tethering but even though my phone is fine windows still has the problem.

No other device that's connected to this Router has any problem.

Microsoft Internet Explorer renamed to Windows Internet Explorer ?




Since version 7 of the world`s most popular web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer was silently renamed to Windows Internet Explorer.Such a step from Microsoft is not a surprise since Internet Explorer is part of the Windows operation system for a long time.Obviously Microsoft corp. wants to state that Internet Explorer is already considered as a part of Windows and not as an external browser (remember the IE and WMP law issues last year!?).

 

Set up a homepage in Windows 10

a) Where specifically do you want the menu bar or toolbar?

b) In which browser do you want to set the homepage - Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer?

c) What is the exact issue you are facing? Is it specific to some app or program installed in the system?

If you wish to set homepage in Internet Explorer, I would suggest you to refer to the following article:

If, however, you wish to change homepage in Edge, you may refer to the following steps:

• 
  Open Microsoft edge.
  
• 
  Click on More actions (Three dots ...)
  
• 
  Click on settings.
  
• 
  Click on view advanced settings.
  
• 
  Turn on "Show the home button"
  
• 
  Enter the URL of the website which you want to set as your home page.
  
• 
  Close the Windows edge and open it again you will be able to get you desired webpage as your home page.

Microsoft Store opening- Internet connection problem error code 0x80072efd

• Do let us know if you are using wired/ wireless internet connection on your device?

I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Use
Internet Connection Troubleshooter.

Internet Connection Troubleshooter find and fix the problems with connecting to the internet or to websites.

• Click on Start; in the start search type
  Troubleshooter and hit Enter.
• In the left pane, click onView all.
• Click on Internet Connection Troubleshooter.
• Select Advance and click on
  Run as Administrator.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: I suggest you to clear cache and cookies from the Microsoft Edge browser.

Steps:

• Open Microsoft Edge, click on
  More Action at the right top corner.
• Click on Settings, click on
  Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.
• Select the Browsing history, caches and cookies and hit
  Clear.
• Close the browser and try to open it again.

Step 3: Run WSReset.exe .

• Press Windows+R key to open Run box
• Enter wsreset.exe in the Run command and then tap or click
  OK.
• Restart your computer and check.
