  1. Windows 10 Sluggish

I have been getting a strange lagging in Windows 10 lately. I first noticed it when playing an RTS game and the screen scrolling was jumpy. I thought it was the game, but when I dropped to windows, the mouse was laggy there as well. Not by much, but noticable. I also noticed that window dragging, windows scrolling, browser scrolling, everything is just laggy.

At idle, CPU usage is <5%, memory hovers at about 30%, Disk usage <5%.

I had ordered a new SSD a while ago, and so I put it in and reinstalled Windows and the problem went away. But that was a couple of weeks ago, and now its laggy again. I have run rkill, Malwarebytes, and CCLeaner, but the issue persists.

Its driving me nuts. Any ideas?

    Specs:

i7 4790k OC'd to 4.5GHz (disabled the OC, but still had the same issue)
    16GB DDR3 2133MHz
    GTX 1080 FE
    OS disk: 1TB Curcial SSD
    Datadisk: Seagate 4TB 7200

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
