Windows 10: Windows 10 Software RAID-5 problem.

Sorry for the bad english. thanks googleI'm trying software RAID-5 with Windows 10. I tried it under VMware Workstation v17.5 with Home Single Language Tr, Pro, LTSB-LTSC. The little I've read on this suggests there is very little evidence of people installing Windows on a RAID 5 configuration... and more to suggest there are real potential issues with using RAID. Random example: https://social.technet.microsoft.com...10itprogeneral On a different slant: whilst Storage Spaces is said to support RAID 5, again, storage spaces seems not particularly robust. Personally I'd steer clear of these less commonly used (and possibly less tested?) configurations. What is it you hope to gain by using RAID 5? Could be some interesting issues in trying to recover from problems when using such a configuration.

 

Need specifics on RAID 10

step 1) purchase a raid card that does raid 10 and has 4x mini sas. you will want at least 1024 ram on that chip.
step 2) purchase 16 2 TB enterprise class constellation drives
step 3) purchase another whole rig to do the same thing
step 4) setup rsync to copy all of the changed data from server 1 to server 2
step 5) buy 2 800 watt BBU (1 for each)

Configure Windows 10 RAID 5 for recovery

I have Lacie 5Big NAS with RAID 5. I can't turn on the Lacie 5Big because of the power supply problem. Using multiple USB to SATA hard drive docking stations, I can see all hard drives without any errors. However, I can't open any files. Can I use Windows
10 RAID to rebuild the RAID 5 and access files? If so, how do you do it? If not, do you recommend any software to do so?
