    Hi there,


    I want to play game RYSE but inside game there is no sound. I have contact the game support and they told me the game only supports surround sound. So I have to turn 5.1 or 7.1 to stereo to get sound from game. Problem starts here I checked my settings but every settings seems surroundOn Realtek Audio Console and Sound device configuration. I checked game using OBS's Audio device and it gives sound on records. What did i find is on the pictures below.


    On this picture as you can see it is look like an 5.1 deviceI think main problem is this check 3. picture.

    But on this picture you can see it is configured as surroundstereo.

    On OBS's sound device there is only one option so it's look like an surroundGame sound looks OK on this device.

    For extra info Realtek Audio Console. It's also surround.

    That's all guys. Somehow I need to change my sound setting on picture 1 to like picture 3. Could you please help me.

    I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

    From what you have mentioned, I would suggest you to try these steps to see if it resolves the issue

    Method 1: Hardware Troubleshoot

    Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
    • Run the playing Audio troubleshooter

    Method 2: Compatibility mode

    I would suggest you to install the latest available drivers on manufacturer's website in compatibility mode.

    Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

    1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

    2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

    3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

    4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

    5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.



    Method 3:

    No sound in Windows.

    To assist you better, please provide us more information.


    • What is the make and model of the computer and headphone?

    • Try connecting the headphone in different device and check if it works properly.
    Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue.

    Method 1.

    Step 1.

    I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver and check.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device manager
      .

    • Now click on Sound, video and game controllers
      to expand, right click on the device and click on uninstall.

    • Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the sound adapter driver.
    If the still persist, try the below steps.

    Step 2.

    I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device manager
      .
    • Now click on Sound, video and game controllers and right click on it and
      update the software.
    If the above methods did not help to fix the issue, try the below method.

    Method 3.

    I recommend you to go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest updated sound adapter driver for Windows 10 and install the same. If the available driver is not for Windows 10 try installing the driver in compatibility
    mode.


    • Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.

    • Select Compatibility tab.

    • Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.

    • Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

    • What happens exactly when you try to play the sound?
    • Are you getting any error message?
    • Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?

    Step 1: I suggest you to install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.

    • Go to “settings” and click on “update and security”.
    • Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
    • Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.

    Step 2: I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article and check if it helps.
