    windows 10 sounds an alarm when I comply with a restart it calls for


    When windows 10 calls for a restart for an upgrade, my system sounds an alarm of 8 beeps continually unlit I remove the battery. I've done a restore from a point before the time period it started... but to no avail... it still does it. Thanx for any help.

    Alarms in Windows 10 Muted ?

    I use the default alarm app that came installed on my computer, Alarms. When I used the alarm in Windows 8.1 even if my sound was muted the alarm would still sound, and it was loud. However I made the upgrade to Windows 10 a day ago, now the app is called
    Alarms & Clock, and now alarms will only sound if the sound is turned on, and in order to be able to hear it my volume has to be set to at least 60% and even that is extremely quiet. On 8.1 it was automatic, I set the alarm and as long as my computer wasn't
    sleeping or turned off, the alarm would go off loudly without fail. Is there something I need to do in Windows 10 to get alarms to sound while muted? A new setting maybe? Or is this no longer possible?

    Same for me...

    From time to time, there's no sound (for
    SMS, calls, alarm and music).

    The phone vibrates without ringing or
    when the alarm occurs (the phone screen
    lights up) but there is no sound.

    It's just annoying when you use the phone to wake you up in the morning...

    However, when someone is calling, I can answer
    my correspondent can hear me. But the phone
    has not rung (when it is configured with
    alarm activated and a volume of 7/30).

    To solve the problem, I have to restart the phone.

    How to solve it permanently?

    8 beeps usually indicates a display problem on the laptop. There is a diagnostic check for the display accessed by holding down the D key as you power up the laptop and the system goes through a colour check.

    It might be worth having the laptop checked for any loose internal cables or connections to the screen.

    guess I'll need to investigate the LCD system when I get a chance.... the laptop is only 3 months old though.....
