Windows 10: Windows 10 start button items changed??

Today when I turn on my computer, my Start Button menu looks like this:Used to be when I clicked the Start Menu, the apps all showed in a vertical listing and I didn't have to click the 3-line menu as depicted above.What happened and how do I fix this to go back to what it was before?Pam

Start menu replacements typically give you easy access to those. Win 10's start menu doesn't.

 

My Start Button is present, but has changed color.

I suggest you to perform the below troubleshooting steps and check.

Method 1: Run the SFC.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
  
• 
  Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
  

Also, I suggest you to check for the Windows updates and see if you are able to access Windows Defender.

Steps:

• Press Windows key and type Windows update.
• select check for updates and install all the pending updates.

Right clicking on Start Button and clicking the following items fail to activate Eg. Progarms and Features.

• Have you installed all the Windows 10 pending updates?
• Which Windows 10 build is installed on the PC?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to fix the issue.

Method 1: Install all the Windows 10 pending updates.

Check for the pending updates and install the same.

I suggest you to update your system to the latest Windows 10 build and also check if for the pending updates in resolving the issue.

• In search type Check for updates and hit enter.
• 
  Click on Check for updates.
  
• 
  Windows will check for the pending updates and automatically install them.
