Windows 10: [Windows 10] Start menu bar auto close randomly

My start menu just randomly close, so I can't hit Shutdown, Restart My record about the issue

Windows 10 Start Menu Auto Close

I just update my asus laptop to windows 10, when I open the new start menu there are obviously many apps to choose from. When I use my touch pad to scroll down the list, the cursor disappears, and when I use the touch pad to try and bring back the cursor
in order to open an app, the whole start menu closes, and I take yet another step that pushes me further to my insanity. I am wondering if there is a way to scroll without using the scroll bar of the side and use my two-finger gesture scroll on my touch pad
without the menu crashing.

Hi, tried as you suggest. It starts and says Checking application registration... and the green progress bar just goes on and on (let it run for over two hours) and never gets to the next step. Any other suggestions?

For the issues with Start menu, try the below steps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run the below PowerShell command to re-register Start menu and check if it helps.

Follow:

• 
  Right click on the Taskbar and select
  Task Manager from the context menu.
  
• 
  In the Task Manager window, click on
  File and on Run new task.
  
• 
  Type powershell, place a check mark on
  Create this task with administrative privileges and click Ok.
  
• 
  In the administrative Windows PowerShell window, carefully type the below command and hit Enter key from the keyboard.
  

• 
  Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + “\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml”)}
  

5. Once the command execution is completed successfully, close the PowerShell window and reboot/ restart the computer.

NOTE: When you are running the PowerShell command, I recommend you to close all the apps on your system and try.
