Windows 10: Windows 10 Start Menu (behaving weirdly?) - brand-new Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga

Hello! Yesterday I got my new 2018 Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga that I purchased for college and I've been noticing some weird things going on with the Start Menu.


The first thing I noticed was that a lot of the pre-installed apps were not downloaded, which has never happened before on any of my other Windows 10 laptops. That's no biggie; I just unpinned them all from Start and they didn't really bother me anymore. Second thing is that the start tiles, no matter how I kept rearranging them, kept resetting themselves. (I woke up this morning and the problem seems to be fixed, but we'll have to see.)


The final thing that's bothering me the most, and why I'm writing this, is that a lot of the normally pre-installed apps are not installed yet can't be removed. When I click on them, nothing happens, and when I right-click, the only option is "pin to start". Once on the start menu, the only option after right-clicking is "unpin from start", which doesn't remove them in any way.


These apps include Autodesk Sketchbook, Bubble Witch 3 Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Disney Magic Kingdoms, and Hidden City. They're not on the "apps" list in Settings either, so I can't uninstall them that way.

Looks like this (there's only the "pin to start" option)





I'd prefer not to reset or reinstall Windows since I just got a certificate for my college on my computer and doing that would remove it I've also never had this problem before with any of my laptops and I can't seem to find a solution on the forums. Thanks!

Thinkpad X1 Yoga doesn't start when Dock Onelink+ is connected


Dear all,

I just received my new Thinkpad X1 Yoga, brand new, with a dock OneLink+

Both are running fine. But it is impossible to start the PC when the dock is connected: The screen freeze at the red square LENOVO display from the Bios, windows 10 pro doesn't start.

I have to disconnect the dock, et relaunch the PC to enable a normal start. After the start, I can reconnect the dock.

I updated all drivers, flashed the bios, latest FW of the dock and even resetted Windows, but without success.

Lenovo support wants to change the laptop (!), it's brand new!

I thought maybe one of the topgun member of this community might have a better idea.
