  1. Windows 10 Start Menu Layout via GPO

    Hi!I am planning to enforce a GPO for the company I work with so that all workstations will have the same start menu layout design.I have managed to successfully deploy this via GPO however the small issue I encounter is that when an application gets deleted/uninstalled it leaves a blank space in between and it doesn't auto-arrange it.is there a setting i can add to the XML file so that it automatically adjust the tile so it doesn't leave a blank space ?regards,Christian

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Start Menu Layout with GPO issue

    I configured my start menu layout on a different machine, then exported the layout and created a GPO to apply it. Upon running gpupdate on a client machine and restarting\logging in the screen just
    flashes and will not allow me to do anything I have to force restart the pc then turn the gpo off to get it back to normal. This is of course Windows 10. Has anybody encountered this or have any tips to fix?

    Adding OneDrive tile to start menu .xml with GPO

    Hi Yasir,

    Thank you for getting back to me but I have seen that suggestion which will not work for me. That steps suggested to do it manually which I'm trying to pin it to the start layout tile using .xml file via GPO. Below is the path where the OneDrive shortcut
    that I'm trying to pin to the start layout tile.

    <startWindows 10 Start Menu Layout via GPO :DesktopApplicationTile Size="2x2" Column="2" Row="2" DesktopApplicationLinkPath="%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OneDrive.lnk" />

    Windows 10 Start Menu Layout via GPO

    Windows 10 Start Menu Layout

    So I'm trying to update my users' start layouts using Group Policy Management. All computers are running Windows 10 v1903.

    When we first got the computers, I deployed a custom image through MDT to do all of the setup, including the start menu layout and taskbar layout and made a GPO to enforce it. This applied a partial layout to the start menu and taskbar, so users could still
    add things. Now, nothing I do will get my new start menu GPO to apply. I've tried different link locations for it within GPM, I've looked in the registry settings and manually changed the XML path from the old one to my new one, I've tried changing the XML
    itself by adding and removing lines to see if that might be the issue but nothing has worked.

    I'm not really sure where to go from here. Any ideas?
