Windows 10: Windows 10 Start Up

When I start my Win 10 machine, which has been working fine, I get to the normal splash screen, enter my login details, a few seconds later the screen turns a brown colour. I have read on various forums that I should get an error code, I am not getting any thing.


I can however Alt-Cont. -Escape and call up the Task manager screen ok, it is as clear as normal. I can also see the Power Icon and the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.


I have tried re-booting with a Win 10 install USB I have, it doesn't seem to be seeing the USB, also created a recovery disk... same result.


I have a suspicion that it may be down to a Win 10 upgrade, because the PC was working fine when I shut down at the end of day, when I booted up next day, immediately in to brown screen after logon.


I cant get in to the machine to do a roll back or run any fault finding software.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
