Windows 10: Windows 10 startup fails - drive letters changed issue -Access is denied

Recently I had the this issue where I was stuck on windows 10 startup loop ...I tried to diagnose and automatic fix the boot but it couldn't fix the boot.Even after using a USB installation media. I tried the cmd commands•Bootrec /rebuildbcd•Bootrec /fixmbr•Bootrec /fixboot but I had the error where it says "Access is denied" ,So I read a lot about people recovering their system from an older image which I didn't have.by chance I saw someone who could solve the "access denied" issue by formatting the EFI partition which is responsible about it which solved the issue for me as well as following

Windows 10 changing USB port drive letters

• Did you make any changes in prior to this issue?

I would like to inform you that the issue might have occurred due to some changes made to your computer.

I suggest you to try changing the drive letter of the drive and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to change the drive letter:

• Press Windows + X keys and click on Disk Management.
• Right click on the external drive and click on Change Drive letter and paths.
• Click on Change the button.
• Under Assign the following Drive letter, select the desired drive letter.
• Click Ok to save changes.

Access denied for internal secondary drive

Hi All,

I have a laptop running windows 10. A few weeks ago it started coming up with an error message on startup about recycle bin is corrupt on D:\ (my secondary drive). I now get access denied whenever I try to open the files/folders on the drive and am losing
will to live as this drive has all of my work and family photo's etc... on.

• I have downloaded the take ownership tool and it is saying access denied.
• Tried changing the drive owner on security and it wont let me as it says access denied (current owner is listed as SYSTEM).
• Tried changing the security groups and privileges and it won't let me, access denied.
• Admin has full control privileges and so I enabled the windows admin account (net user administrator /active:yes) and logged in but that still says access denied. My account is also an admin account but still access denied.
• Tried switching onedrive off as heard that can cause an issue and no luck.
• Tried using local account rather than Microsoft account and still access denied.
• Tried a reset of the PC, still no luck

I really am at a loss now and don't really want to have to take it to a computer shop to get them to try and retrieve.

The laptop was originally on windows 7 but upgraded to windows 10 fine. I am struggling as cannot find any other solutions on the internet, anyone go any ideas.

Cannot change drive letter

Hello,

I request you to try the steps below:

• Press "Windows" + "R" on the keyboard.
• Type "diskmgmt.msc" and press Enter key.
• Now right click on the drive and select Change drive letter or path.
• Select the drive and click on Change.
• Now select the drive letter and click on OK.
