  1. Windows 10 startup problem

Hi all, i really hope you can help me out. I was running w 8.1 on my Acer E-15 Start laptop, i kept getting popups asking me to download w10 for free. Eventually i did. It worked ok for about 1 week, then when i switched my laptop on, it went from the Acer load screen to the windows user-sign in screen. The screen just shows the person icon with USER below this and the sign in box below these 2. There is the windows icon to the right of these and at the bottom right is a small box with what looks like the internet access icon, aclock icon and the power button icon. The problem is, nothing will click to move off this screen. When i first downloaded w10, the screen saver came up before this page, now it just goes straight to this page. I have tried CTRL/ALT/DEL, CTRL/SHIFT/DEL, but nothing helps to move from this screen. The only thing that i can do is power the machine off via the power button. I am a complete pc novice, so any help at all will be very much appreciated. Thanks Chris.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 login problem

Hi. I installed windows 10 on my friends computer, and his computer has a problem with overheating, so when I wanted to type his account details, the computer shut down. Then when I reopened it, is displays "Other User" and under are two columns, where
it says to type the email and the password. I tried three different accounts and it says that the password is incorrect. Please, help!

  3. Windows 10 Problem

After I updated Windows 10 today as I was instructed, I can no longer get on the internet. My wifi no longer shows up to click on it. It was working fine until I allowed the install. I have tried restarting the HP Spectre x 369 laptop and the router,
but this has not helped. (I am using a borrowed Apple computer to search for a solution.) I need help to get back online. Can anyone help or tell me who I might contact for help?

With given info, sounds like KB/MSE issue at the sign on screen.

Is it possible for you to plug in an extrenal KB, Mse or both and retry?

Also, try a reset, take out the battery, press and hold power for 30 seconds (count it out...) then replace and reboot it.

KB = keyboard, Mse = Mouse. Because your built-in keyboard and mouse (trackpad) are apparently not working, RWOne wants you to try using equivalent external devices instead. This may give you a way to overcome your current impasse.

My guess is he is on the sign in screen, but not having a working keyboard or touchpad to get past that.

Consequently, I had a keyboard issue on 14332 the other day on my laptop similar, and hooked in an external to sign in, checking device manager it reported my KB drivers were corrupt, I uninstalled from device manager and rebooted, all was well after that, didn't feel the need to report it.

  9. The touchpad will move the cursor around the screen. I have had a mouse connected but this is just doing the same, moving the cursor, but not allowing me to sign in. I dont have a spare keyboard. Its difficult when i know nothing about these things. I have tried starting and pushing f2, but i am stumped as to what to do in these screens.

..........................at the bottom right is a small box with what looks like the internet access icon, aclock icon and the power button icon. .................................

OK. See if you can do these.....................
If you click at the Power icon at bottom right, you will see a Restart option. Yes ?
    Assuming that is a "yes".
Press the SHIFT key and HOLD it > click the Power icon > click Restart > click "Restart anyway" if you were asked to confirm the action > wait > click Troubleshoot ..................

You now have 2 choices :
(A.) select Reset this PC. By doing that, you can only keep your files and nothing else. You will be resetting your system back to day one after you have installed Windows 10.

(B). select Advanced options > select System Restore > pick a date that is at least 1 week ago when your computer was running OK. Use that date as your restore point.

(c). If you do system image backup regularly, you can choose that option and do a system image restore.
