    I have a recent problem with various websites not opening. It seems to be associated with login. So for instance I have a website that I can access and enter credentials, after which the page just hangs trying to connect to my account page. Another example is that I can log into my Microsoft account, but when I select the Privacy tab or Security or Payment Details tabs etc then the page hangs. All three of these pages use login.live in the link which does not open.

    A similar problem I have is with the IT Pro website. I can enter the site but when I select one of the articles I get an error returned. When I do an inspect on the page the error seems related to CORS policy.

    In all the above cases the sites worked fine until a few weeks ago. Also the errors are not related to any particular browser, i.e. same result in Edge, Firefox, Google chrome etc.

    Finally, everything works in Safe Mode.

    Clearly there is some setting or program which is preventing logging into webpages, but I am unclear how I should proceed to resolve this issue.

    I did try running msconfig and setting it to Diagnostic start-up but this resulted in no internet connection and I am at a loss as to which services to switch on and which order.
