Windows 10: Windows 10 stops recording all mouse inputs

Hi!

Over the last few weeks I have had some problems with windows.
Sometimes, windows just stops recording any cursor input. I know my mouse isn't the problem because when this happens, it stops recording all cursor inputs, whether it's coming from the mouse or from my Wacom tablet. I also tried with other mice and it is the same.

I know the problem isn't coming from my usb ports as it is present no matter the usb port I plug my mouse in, also when this happens, my other USB devices still work my keyboard, speakers, etc..
Unplugging and plugging the mouse or tablet back again doesn't change anything, though I know the power supply isn't the problem as unplugging and replugging the mouse or tablet will light their indicator lights.
I tried updating my drivers, but that didn't change anything, all my drivers are now the latest stable version and I still have the problem.
Other topics on the internet seem to suggest this could be due to overheating of the processor, but I know that this is not the case as I have been monitoring that as well, and it stays between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this?
So far the only way to get my computer to start registering cursor inputs again is to restart it.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.

I appreciate the response, but it does not help me.

I need to be able to "disable" quite a few recording inputs from my list of recording inputs. The process you described has not been of any benefit to me because it is not really what I need. However, I really appreciate the response, but it has nothing to
do with my drivers. I can disable all the necessary inputs quite easily, but they are all enabled when I reboot!
