Windows 10: Windows 10, stuck in diagnostic startup, no access to cmd prompt, pin and password do not...

Title explains it all. PC now stuck and will only loop back to a starry screen that doesn't accept password or pin, or any effort to change them, and can't access command prompt using any of the ways ice found so far including the power cycling to get into recovery.

Windows Startup password

Is it possible to remove a startup password without being able to log into the system? A friend's laptop just prompt her today for a password that she never enabled. Now, she does have a standard user account password, but that doesn't work for the startup password. She had the computer for about a year now and it has never asked for a startup password until today.

I tried to use Hiren Boot CD to run a diagnostic on the laptop, but it has a bsod. Windows 10 normal boot crashes as well

 

(SOLVED) Stuck in Diagnostic Startup

After hours and HOURS of searching online, I found a loophole for using the Command Prompt at my lockscreen, which I used to make my other account an admin and run msconfig and return it to Normal Startup. Thanks for your help guys!

I was trying to troubleshoot Microsoft Store by using Diagnostic Startup to rule out if software was interfering with it, so I used msconfig to choose

Diagnostic Startup (so only system services would run), and now I"m stuck in it. At the lock screen, it says "Something happened with your pin.", so I can't use my PIN. Also, it's REJECTING, my password which I know is right.

In Diagnostic Mode, I also have no WiFi or Ethernet for some reason, so I can't really authenticate my account. Startup Repair and Command Prompt from Recovery (Shift + Restart) are also rejecting my password, and my account is the only admin on my PC.

I feel like I'm doomed..

Hello:

Basically I did Diagnostic startup, currently unable to use a PIN to access Windows 10 during diagnostic mode

After enter password to log in, it still says something went wrong, unable to log in, which means unable to change msconfig to have nominal start.

I tried the following, rebooted three times in advanced options,

Startup repair able to log in use password but unable to solve problems,

there is no system restore point available,

there is no system image recovery available,

Startup settings unable to login to safe mode ( still unable to log in) safe mode requires log in first.

Only command prompt are able to tryouts,

Please tell me how to use cmd to reboot system in normal without diagnostic startup.
