Windows 10: Windows 10: Stuck on Loading Screen

So today was a rainy day, with really loud and powerful lightning. I was on my computer, which is right in front of the windows, and the window about 10 feet away from me was struck my lightning. There were sparks and the router, which happened to be right next to that window, powered off and my computer blacked out for a couple of seconds before turning back on. Now it's stuck on the loading screen (it shows the Windows 10 logo but there isn't the buffering icon beneath it; just the logo. nothing else.). Should I wait and see if it'll work tomorrow or should I just get out and buy a new one?

First at all i bought a laptop for my wife with freedos version. I am getting informations from the guys in the store i can get windows 10 for free because i am a person with loss of hearing and my wife too. I dont know where i can ask for those informations
but i will be grateful if i can get some advices about that. Thank u.

Loaded windows 10 log on fine but screen stuck on windows7 screen page. Now cannot log on

 

Hi lxoxoOreo and welcome to Tenforums.
It's possible that some of your system files were corrupted by the event. This is why I always recommend a Back-UPS for every desktop I work on. If your OS is reading/writing system files during a power loss, those files will be corrupted, rendering your OS unusable.

I don't think I would buy a new computer just yet (unless, of course, you were looking for a reason to do so!).*Smile If you can get into the recovery environment, it may be possible to repair the OS. See if this helps:

(Unless the sparks came from the computer and not the router....then, I would have a professional look at it.)

 

Have you tried completely powering off the PC and restarting it? It's also possible the BIOS settings have been corrupted and you could try loading the BIOS defaults.
