Windows 10: Windows 10 stuck on please wait feat. Outdated bootable USB

Sorry my punctuation skills aren’t really on point

Whenever i try to start up my asus laptop, after the usual asus logo and windows logo it goes to a please wait blue loading screen. It keeps on going forever.

i tried to use a Bootable usb and after going through the languages, clicking repair your computer, i went to system restore but it says there are no restore points. I’m pretty sure i had made some system restore points but i’m not too sure. So i tried to uninstall latest updates, the previous quality updates. But it said that it couldn’t find the latest quality update to uninstall. And then i tried startup repair and it said it couldn’t repair your pc. I then ran chkdsk on the command prompt on the disk where the broken laptop’s system was installed


I then put the drive in another working computer and all the files are working i could take out files and pictures etc. Move it and open pictures in the other computer. Then i did sfc /scannow and it said that there are no problems


then i tried to go to automatic repair mode with the problematic system’s disk itself. I start up my laptop and when the windows logo pops up i force shutdown. I then did it again a second time. Then on the third time instead of the automatic repair i get hit with this right after the asus logo.




So i pressed f8 for startup settings and tried safe mode and it starts the laptop. But with a black desktop with nothing on it but the empty taskbar. Then it whites out the whole screen and taskbar with this application is not respondingpressing cancel will bring it up again and end process will bring it up again after a few seconds of delay.


so then i forced shutdown again multiple times to try get the automatic repair but it keeps going to the recovery blue screen in the first image. If i press enter it goes back to the beggining of the problem, the please wait screen that never finishes loading. So i can’t get to automatic repair for some reason.


i tried the bootable USB again and went to command prompt. I then typed bcdedit to check if maybe the “recoveryenabled” is set tono and maybe that somehow doesn’t start automatic repair??? So I scrolled down and turns out it is set to yes. So that was also not the problem.


But maybe this is all because my bootable USB is actually almost 2 months old now, and maybe the outdated things installed there doesn’t work anymore with the current version. So i wanted to ask here before i go and reinstall the new version of the installation media

Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!

 

Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

There is three options:
Windows 10
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks
