Windows 10: Windows 10 stuck on start screen, unable to recognize pin?

After attempting to start windows 10 in safe mode because I was having an issue with games crashing occasionally it’s been stuck on the start screen with the message “Something happened and your pin isn’t available. Click to set up pin” and the only option is “set up my pin” which does nothing. Occasionally it shows a pop up asking to look for apps on the store to setup pin but that also does nothing. I’ve attempted starting in normal or other safe modes but nothing changes. I’ve also attempted to uninstall the latest windows updates but that also did nothing.

• Which is the build installed in your computer?
• Have you installed all pending Windows updates?
• Are you facing this issue in Microsoft Account or Local Account?

I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check if that helps.
Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

I would suggest you to check and install any latest Windows Updates available.

Go to Start and then
Settings.

2.
Click on Update and Recovery.

3.
Check for updates under
Windows Updates.

4.
Restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.

Refer the steps to know the latest build in your computer.

• Click on System and select About.

Pin NY Times to Windows 10 Start

• Are you referring to NY Times application?
• How are you accessing NY times (Via online or via App)?
• What exactly happens when you try to perform the above mentioned steps to pin application to Start?

Can't pin some items in Start Menu to Start Screen?


Any of the items under games in this screen shot will not pin to my Start Screen? They will pin to my taskbar though. It's windows 10 Enterprise if that matters. I can right click and select Pin to Start, but nothing happens. Right click again and Pin To Start is still listed as an option, but doesn't do anything?
