Windows 10: Windows 10 subscriptions aren't happening. Here's why

Discus and support Windows 10 subscriptions aren't happening. Here's why in Windows 10 News to solve the problem; I would go back to 8.1 in a heartbeat and wouldn't be at all sad about doing it.     Any decent sized company would have a software assurance contract with Microsoft, which I believe, lets you run the latest and greatest version as part of the agreement. At no extra cost.

    Ok.. well then I'm sure glad that MS is not going to do this and I don't know why anyone would want to pay a subscription fee for 10.

    It would be 8.1 for me. Going back to Windows 7 at this point would be a last ditch option.

    I might do that as well but I would have to add on Classic Shell to make 8.1 usable.

    It doesn't make any sense to me either? Not as things are now with endless free upgrades to the next new versions/build of Windows.

    See, I like the Start Screen. I'm actually a bit peeved that they changed it and added the Start Menu into Windows 10. I liked it better the other way. I'm in the minority on that though, I think?

    I used Classic Shell with 8.1 and am also using it with 10. So I'm really not seeing a lot of difference in day-to-day use of the two.

    I wouldn't pay a subscription for Windows 10, I would for 7 or 8. I am with alphanumeric on this one, I much prefer the Start Screen.

    I am also with Jimbo, I have stopped most subscriptions, even my Office 365, cut about $100 US a month, it adds up real quick.

    All of my Windows are currently bought and paid for, I will just keep using those.

    Ah, I think you are confused? I prefer the Start Screen, I don't like the Start Menu at all. I have absolutely no interest in ever going back to Windows 7.

    LOL yes I misstated that, I think I knew what you meant though, I have edited my post to reflect that, thanks.

    Well after thinking about this, you were referring to the Start Screen of Windows 8 or are you referring to Windows 10 (Start Menu/Screen whatever it is)? Personally I like the combo of 7 & 8 and not Windows 10 choice at all.

    I'll ditch Windows faster than I click the Yes button if MS makes me pay for subscription. It's not going to happen.

    I am used to Android and I don't mind Linux.

    'tap here to decide what happens': A couple of things I do not like about 8.1 are what happens when I plug in a removable drive: the 'tap here to decide what happens' message. For several reasons this is very poor. And the 'decide which app to open this file' dialog, which is a step back in usefulness....
