    My problem occurred 3 weeks ago. I didn't use my laptop for a long time. When I came back,my windows start can't open.Trying to update windows and the windows update failed to install the update after 20%. I tried to used DISM tool but the tool is having a problem that caused it to stop the process. The SFC Tool is crashing when i try to open it or typing it in CMD.When i try to open my apps its keep showing me a bad image message warning that forced the app to closed.The last thing i tried is to reset this pc but the process is not finished due to the problem i face with.Anyways how to fix this problem?

    Windows update failing

    You could try the Windows Update troubleshooter. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-windows-update-troubleshooter

    If that doesn't work then do this:

    Windows Updates failed to instal

    I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

    Try this --> Fix the problem with Microsoft Windows Update that is not working

    If that fails... give this a go --> System Update Readiness Tool fixes Windows Update errors in Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008
