Windows 10: Windows 10 System Resources Efficiency?

Hi,

Just wondering if Windows 10 has even better resource management such as CPU, memory and even hard disk usage than that of Windows 8.1?

Upon upgrading to Windows 8.1 from using Windows 7 on and off, I noticed some improvements made on Windows 8.1 memory usage, CPU efficiency and even overall hard disk speed.

The improvements in Windows 8.1 were not massive by any means but it's there for those who look/monitor their system resources and care about these things.

I heard Windows 10 takes CPU usage efficiency even further but I've not heard anything about improvements made to memory usage/management in Windows 10 since Windows 10 memory requirements are exactly the same as Windows 8.1/8/7.

'System' Hogs All My System Resources - What Should I Do?







Hello.

Currently I'm writing this response using Microsoft Edge and I'm not running any other app alongside it. However, I still am seeing 200 MB RAM being used by 'System'. I am the sole-user of the computer and there is no second user account on the computer.
Also like I said, no app is running other than Edge at this moment. I can also confirm that no app is using network connection at this moment, for example, Store, Windows Update.

And as I was suggested, I ran maintenance tasks, individually, i.e., optimized the disks and ran disk cleanup, and also went to System and Security and ran maintenance tasks from there. I'm also attaching pictures showing the results of the maintenance task.

Let's face it. Windows 10 and Edge are real resource hogs. My computer repairman/builder puts it this way...

"It's very intense on harddrives and you may need a graphic card upgrade.

I've noticed huge resource usage. Not everyone has 16GB RAM and a 2TB harddrive. I would guess smaller laptops with some age as well as lower grade desktops even having problems. I have an i5 processor, 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD. My system lags. buffers, won't
load some pages, overall is a real hog on resources. My yahoo email account delays displaying letters. A harddrive problem it sounds like. It did none of this with Windows 7 and IE 11. I may go back to IE but I've noticed some crucial files missing. Like WUapp.
Windows updates!!

I'm afraid Windows 10 is slowly eating my computer alive. Maybe Microsoft had this in mind to sell more computers and/or hardware. If I hadn't deleted Windows 7 like a kid in a candy store, I would be back there in a heartbeat.
