Windows 10: Windows 10 - system sounds resetting to 100% and unmuting at every system notification

Hi everyone.


So I literally reinstalled my windows 10 last Friday and have now installed all the software and drivers again. However I keep having this issue that whenever there's a system notification of either windows defender, new device plugged in or anything that comes from windows itself and not a 3rd party application my system sounds will get unmuted and go back to 100%. I keep putting it at 0% and muting it but this doesn't help at all. I had this problem on my previous install too and was hoping to get rid of it but it seems not. I have as I said done a complete reinstall so all the drivers are freshly installed too.

Please tell me there's a fix for this because the system sounds are annoyingly way too loud and I'm getting tired of windows deciding for itself what to do regardless of user settings.

(Windows 10) - 'System Sounds' Resets to 100%

I've been having this problem ever since I installed Windows 10. Pretty much, I set the System Sounds slider to 5% in the system volume mixer and randomly it will reset it's self to 100% making notifications very loud.

Aside from re-installing Windows is there anything that can be done to solve this problem?

 

Prevent websites from unmuting sound in Windows 10

I have the sound muted in windows 10. Certain websites, CNN in particular, have some way to turn on the system sound. This shouldn't be possible but its happening regularly with Google Chrome. Any suggestions how to prevent a website from unmuting the
windows system sound?

Same issue here, seems to be a bug where a notification resets System Sounds level to 100%.
